Advisory Board
For an educational institute, it's important that the educational program is and stays top-notch. Especially in a very fast developing world like Free and Open Source IT technologies. The Advisory Board consists of people from the FOSS industry, which are working on a high level, on a daily basis with Free and Open Source and innovative concepts. It's the task from the Advisory Board to give advice to the Chancellor and his team what needs or needs not to be changed to the curriculum from OpenSource Science.
Prof K.N. B Murthy
Prof K.N.B Murthy (commonly referred to as KNB) is currently the Advisor to Cambridge Institute of Technology, Bengaluru (since March 2024). He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (1986) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology - Madras, Chennai (1996). He worked as a research specialist in Parallel Computing at New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, USA between August 1998 and January 1999. Formerly, KNB was the former Vice-Chancellor of Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), Bengaluru as well as former Vice-Chancellor of PES University
Prof Dr. Steef Peters
After a study mathematics and physics at the University of Amsterdam and a PhD in elementary particle physics he made a new step designing and implementation of new technology like electronic payment systems and artificial intelligence in the financial sector. This resulted in a professorship at the Free University of Amsterdam, visiting researcher position at the Henley Business School and visiting professor position at the Beijing Institute of Technology. Next to this he started companies in the Netherlands and the Philippines directed to the design and implementation of decentral personal information systems. To apply this knowledge he joined a company in the social domain as director resulting in a new matching model, which is now being developed in a new company. Currently he is teaching at the Hague University of Applied Sciences in the field of risk management, cybersecurity, blockchain and GDPR.
Emiel Brok
Emiel is SUSEs Open Source Ambassador in EMEA. He is also the Co-Founder of the Linux Professional Institute in the Benelux and a board member of the ICT Network. Following his studies in Marketing Applied Sciences, Emiel has lived and breathed the open source philosophy for over 20 years. He is a firm believer that public education in IT should reflect the same power of open source as it does in the enterprise world. He trusts in the 'Power of Many' and 'Public Money Public Code' to continuously change the world into a better place.
Elzbieta Godlewska
Since 2005, Elzbieta has been dedicated to promoting
Open Source. She has worked on certification programs and career support for IT
professionals for many years. Previously, as a Senior Manager in the EMEA
region with CompTIA, and since 2011, with the Linux Professional Institute
(LPI), a global certification standard, and career support organization for
open-source professionals.
Marya Yaqin M.Sc BICT BA
Marya has completed 3 formal educational degrees, including a Bachelor of Business Administration (BA), Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology (BICT), and Master of Public Administration (MSc). The combination of these three achievements, as well as her experience in IT-related areas (+20 years), enable her to operate as a link between IT, enterprises, and government organizations.
Richard Varghese M.Sc
Chief Operations Officer at Onestein. He is an Open Source Evangelist with a background in Strategic IT Leadership & Management, Enterprise Architecture, Global Outsourcing & Strategic Partnership Development worked with similar roles at CIT, Canna, Coca-Cola amongst others.
Peter van Vliet BICT
Peter started his software development career over 20 years ago. Over the course of these years, he has gained extensive experience with a wide range of technologies. Nowadays, as the co-founder of Masking Technology, he leverages his expertise to assist companies, work on open-source projects, write articles, and speak at conferences. .
